Fondue parties should be a part of every celebration.

In the 1970's I could go to a local restaurant and have a three course fondue meal - although the dessert was always my favourite. Fondue sets - the stand as well as the pot - also make excellent containers for all sorts of floral arrangements.

The one used in this arrangement is a well loved black cast iron pot and stand.

The stand for this pot has been turned upside down to allow for the placement of the bark to look like a fire underneath the pot. If I had used the stand the right way up too much of the table underneath would have been visible and the impression of a contained "cooking fire" would not have been evident.

The pot is filled with oasis and the floral material has been kept simple in keeping with the rest of the party decor. Reds, yellows and greens are the party colors so this is reflected in the banksia and bottlebrush flowers and foliage used. The arrangement is loosely symmetrical (if that's possible!) with the reds used together at the height of the arrangement and the yellows as the focal point lower down.
