Flower Arranging | Weddings | County Fair Theme

This wedding was the result of a date at a county fair and the couple wanted to highlight that with the theme of their day.

You could adapt this to focus on a special part of your own courtship to give your day a unique touch.

This arrangement uses a minimum of flowers and foliage keeping in mind that florists will suggest odd numbers (1,3,5) provide the most visually appealing floral arrangements.

The container for this arrangement is a pair of farm work pants (moleskins) which is what the bride and groom were wearing when they met. They have been folded into themselves to stand upright with a tall glass jar inside filled with oasis.

A single strelitzia leaf at the back of the arrangement provides height with five stems of fishbone fermn place in a fan pattern around it. Three flower stems (Oriental lillies) fill the remainder of the space - the beauty of these is that the buds will open providing even more flowers and as they are large flowers we need less of them to fill the space.

As a added personal touch the arrangement has a bamboo U shaped cane (like the ones kewpie dolls come with) pushed into the pocket of the pants. Across the top of this is a copy of the program from the fair the day the couple met.
